The Independent Regulatory Commission, Dominica’s regulator for the electricity sector, continues its public consultation process this week with a forum in Grand Bay. The Consultation is the second of three planned discussions on a draft set of Quality of Service Standards for electricity supply, following the May 12, 2009 event in Roseau. The introduction of a Quality Standards regime will help to ensure that the principles of competition are maintained, even in our current situation where DOMLEC has been granted an exclusive licence to generate, transmit and distribute electricity in Dominica.
